Long has more than 20 years experience with development, financing, construction operation, and acquisition of power projects in Vietnam.

Long started his career with AES in 2006 as Business Development Manager for the 1,242 MW Mong Duong 2 Power Project and played a key role in the project’s development, financing and construction. After a short break in 2013, he returned to AES in 2014 and served as Business Development Director, overseeing AES’ business development activities in Vietnam.

In 2020, Long became the Business Development Director for CCGT and LNG projects in Vietnam and since then he has been leading AES’ efforts in the development of the 2,250 MW Son My No. 2 (CCGT) power plant together with the $1.5 billion Son My LNG import terminal in Binh Thuan Province.

Prior to joining AES, Long held several leadership positions in international companies and engaged in a wide range of energy projects, such as Infraco Asia’s 30MW hydropower project, 750MW Phu My 3 BOT gas combined cycle power project and a number of coal fired power projects including the 600MW Pha Lai 2 and 300MW Uong Bi Extension No.1.

Long graduated from Vietnam Marine University.
